Fingerprinting at State Police Troops or local police departments.

If you’d like to get fingerprints taken at a police troop or local police department, you must contact them directly to confirm their schedule, collection fee, and policies, and to make an appointment if applicable. Not all departments offer fingerprinting services to the public. Contact the troop or police department in your area for more information.

IMPORTANT: You must submit a DCF Authorization form and FBI Privacy Rights form to OEC, and obtain a CCHRS applicant tracking number before being fingerprinted. For all OEC background checks other than those for family child care homes, these steps must be done in the OEC Background Check Information System (BCIS).

Family child care home providers, staff, and household members may submit these forms to OEC through 2-1-1 Child Care, by mail, or by email. For more information visit the OEC website.

Do not schedule a fingerprinting appointment until you have submitted the two forms listed above and obtained a CCHRS Applicant Tracking Number.
