Revisions to Licensing Regulations Pertaining to Child Care Centers and Group Child Care Homes – Effective October 16, 2024

Dear Provider:

The OEC Division of Licensing is providing information concerning the new child care center and group child care home regulations.  These regulations are effective as of October 16, 2024.

Included in this email is a memo concerning the new regulations which has a link to the regulations, along with a summary of the changes.  As a licensed provider, it is your responsibility to read and understand the new regulations, however, the summary has been provided to give a brief overview of the changes.  Please note that the regulations being deleted are in [brackets], whereas the new language is underlined.  Be assured that as soon as we have a codified version (without the brackets and underscoring) of the regulation from the Secretary of the State, the “clean” version will be shared with all licensed programs and posted on our website.

We know how long licensed child care centers and group child care homes have been waiting for this information and wanted to ensure that we included the summary of the changes with this notice to help you to understand the new requirements.  We will continue to work to provide communication and support to all licensed programs and will notify you of upcoming information sessions regarding these changes.
