New RFP for Staffed Family Child Care Networks

Last updated August 12, 2021

OEC is excited to share the newest RFP for Staffed Family Child Care Networks. We’re releasing this RFP for a “Hub” organization to serve as a superstructure to the state’s Staffed Family Child Care Networks.

We’re investing nearly $5 million in funding over a 3-year period to support our regional family child care networks, help elevate the family child care profession, and lead capacity-building initiatives that support the pedagogical and operational aspects of running child care businesses.

This RFP is part of OEC’s long-term vision to build a sustainable family child care system that works for both families and for the providers who make so much of everyday life possible – including the ability to work, further an education, and pursue life with the assurance that our children are in safe and loving hands. It’s also integral to the state’s strategy of advancing structural change in the state’s child care sector — especially when considering that many family child care providers are small entrepreneurs and women of color who have been previously excluded from formal systems of support.
